The Datamat Group, with
offices in Glastonbury, CT; Norwalk, CT; and Warwick, RI; is providing a
special three-day workshop in New Haven for AIA Connecticut members on
Revit Architecture, a powerful parametric Building Information Modeling
(BIM) program that streamlines the design process with a central 3D
model.
This course covers the basics of Revit® Architecture 2009 from schematic design through construction documentation, finishing with design visualization. Students are introduced to the concepts of BIM and the tools for parametric building design and documentation. Its objective is to enable students to create full 3D architectural project models and set them up in working drawings. Most of the course is focused on Design Development tools - building the 3D model with walls, windows, doors, floors, roofs, stairs, creating reflected ceiling plans and furniture plans. The course finishes with adding views and annotation to the sheets to create a set of Construction Documents. Students should be able to complete their first Revit Architecture project after completing this course. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited. Cost AIA Members & Senior Associates: $665.00 Additional details: IES is an easy three mile, 6-7 minute drive from the AIA Connecticut office at 370 James Street, New Haven, and has the advantage of having the necessary work stations loaded with REVIT. We are suggesting that if you feel that you might need a little help downloading the free, 30 day trial REVIT training material, that you bring your laptop to the program, and the Datamat folks will be available to help you out.
