AutoCAD Mechanical 2004 and Mechanical Desktop 2004 Updates Available for Download

An issue stemming from the options setting in AutoCAD®, which allows AutoCAD users to set the default file as a version level, has been detected. Data corruption can occur if an AutoCAD® Mechanical customer sets this option to anything other than the default "AutoCAD 2004" drawing setting - AutoCAD Mechanical 2004 will not properly save the file. Another method in which users could corrupt their data, involves using the DXFOUT, ETRANSMIT or Save as AutoCAD 2004, or you perform any another type of file export operation. If you save the file after any of these operations, the file becomes corrupted.

To fix this error, updates for AutoCAD Mechanical 2004 and Mechanical Desktop 2004 have been posted - see details below.

These updates, along with readme files, can be downloaded from the product support Web site. Locked (safecast) and unlocked (acode) updates for both AutoCAD Mechanical 2004 and Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2004 are available. They are located in the "Updates & Service Packs" section.
